Welcome to Bayboro, North Carolina!

Welcome to our cozy little town in Pamlico County.

Bayboro, North Carolina, was settled long before its official incorporation and was named the county seat in 1876. Originally named Bayborough, the town was incorporated March 5, 1881.  Upon incorporation, the North Carolina General Assembly appointed Charles M. Babbitt as the first Mayor, along with Church W. Miller, W.H. Rawls and S.W. Fowler as Commissioners.  

Historical census data estimated around 250 residents in 1890, and the 2026 census estimates Bayboro having a population of about 1200 residents.
